I was looking for pointers on how get started writing mods. I'd like to make some UI mods that make gameplay easier, I'm not as interested in mods that customize the skyrim world itself.
I have a lot of experience programming, though little of that was creating extensions for games. With Skyrim, I'm not sure where to start. I think they use lua? I'm hoping to find an API like WoW that allowed manipulating character inventory, and to save information to disk such that an external application could read it.
Any good docs or sites out there I can look at? thanks much
Not sure exactly here but I would say extracting the bsa files first is a good start and then examine the skyrim ini files too. Nost files you want should be in those places. I use the oblivion or fallout mod manager to extract older bsa files, you might one one of those work with skyrim.
