    What happened with this? I thought it was going to be implemented.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fMk1hGotY-8&feature=youtu.be

    12 temporal locations for the past, and 12 temporal locations for the future. Not unlimited, but probably enough for everyone.

    And I think that up to 24 temporal locations per main world wouldn't be crazy at all (in terms of server performance) if the locations are just areas and not whole worlds, as WonkoTheSane1 said.

    But I'm happy with a repeater with 3 three alternative temporal locations.

    Would it be worth allowing server admins to attach TARDIS areas to this system as well? I'm thinking past, present, and future versions of a specific city, each version built within the same world to conserve server resources. An admin might want to set up one world to store all these different time creations.

    Sure, area disks accomplish traveling to these areas separately, but when each area is meant to be the same physical location across different times, the disks seem to spoil the experience. Hiding the area disks in this situation and replacing them with this repeater control makes it a more believable experience.

    Hmm, will try to make some designs later.

    @eccentricnz: Go

    Oh, that's true. I was thinking on only load a world when a player wants to go there, but in big servers, probably will be always at least one player in every world...

    I think that the code should be prepared for unlimited worlds, but by default, a repeater will be used, so maximum 4 versions of each world. First tick for present, and the other three for the worlds the staff wants. So there can be two pasts and one future, or three pasts, etc.

    Definitely not sure about unlimited worlds, the whole reason for implementing the TARDIS Interior Positioning System (TIPS in the TARDIS_TimeVortex world) is to save on server resources. Adding too many worlds to the server is going to significantly impact on server startup times.

    So attach an image of what the inventory based GUI looks like...

    @Squawkers13: Go

    I should really hook into Multiverse and get the alias name for the world from there... EDIT: oh wait, I'm already doing this... just set the alias via MV - https://github.com/Multiverse/Multiverse-Core/wiki/World-properties#wiki-alias

    I would love this. I would also love being able to change the display names of worlds as printed by TARDIS.

    @eccentricnz: Go

    I was thinking on a comparator which when pressed, displays an inventory based interface. A repeater totally can't do my idea.

    @vistaero: Go

    So explain how another control lets the player select unlimited worlds... How do I distinguish (from your example above) Spawn_2013 from Spawn_2014 if they're both in the past?

    A repeater could do:

    • position 1 = the present
    • position 2 = the past
    • position 3 = the future
    • position 4 = random time
  • Avatar of vistaero vistaero Oct 20, 2015 at 02:02 UTC - 0 likes

    @eccentricnz: Go

    But doesn't that limit to just three the versions of the worlds? would be enough in most cases but I'd like it to be unlimited.

    If my user makes a small backpack, and opens it, it sets the id, and makes him unable to craft the next level pack. Make it id compatible?
